I read this collection of short stories for my Philosophical Fiction class last year. The stories are mind bending, a bit dense, but absolutely worth flipping through.

The Handmaid’s Tale - Margaret Atwood
This is one of my favorite dystopian novels, Atwood presents a world where women and other ‘undesirables’ have been stripped of all their rights. Thought-provoking critiques of society and its values.

A Song of Fire and Ice series - George R. R. Martin,
This is the Game Of Thrones series (for those that have seen the TV series). I'm on the third book (out of 7) and it's tough to put down. They are epic fantasy novels about controlling the 7 kingdoms of the novel. There's betrayal, war, and humor captured in the books.
